- BBS In A Box Menus
-
- The attached set of menus is intended as a "generic" setup which can be
- quickly modified to work with "BBS IN A Box" in most setups. Included are a
- set of menus in both menu file and text form, along with Tom Konantz'
- application ListMenus, which can convert menus to text and vice versa.
-
- To adjust these menus to your BBS, open the List Of Menus file with a text
- editor (Vantage and McSink DA's are recommended, as is the application QUED,
- but you can use a regular word processor if you're careful to keep the file in
- TEXT form and don't alter line breaks or tabs).
-
- You need to change paths for the commands worded as follows:
-
- <.> Back to CD-ROM Menu
- <?> About the AMUG "BBS In A Box" CD-ROM
- <$> How to order "BBS In A Box"
-
- or else eliminate the commands altogether. The TEXT files for the two AMUG
- "BBS In A Box" info commands are included in this package if you want to use
- them.
-
- In addition, you need to change all FileMenu references from G2 to the path
- and folder[s]) for your hard disk.
-
- That's it. Just be careful as you work. (Also, make a backup copy of these
- files before you start -- it's easy to mangle menus with the slip of a global
- command!)
-
- If you want to make global changes, go for it. That's where ListMenus really
- shines.
-
- When you are done, run ListMenus. Type "B" to build a new set of menus.
-
- If you think ListMenus is useful and anticipate using it again, send $10 to:

- Huntsville AL 35802
- GENie: T.KONANTZ
-
- If you are afraid to use ListMenus, like working with a menu editor and don't
- mind a zillion repetitive operations, you can open each included menu and
- change the paths for the
-
- <.> Back to CD-ROM Menu
-
- command and change the two info commands in the FileMenu.
-
- Notes:
-
- These menus do not provide access to all the files the "BBS In A Box." The
- Apple System files are guarded with an access level of 255, since you must
- have a license from Apple in order to distribute System software. Feel free to
- add to or improve on these menus and to distribute your modifications.
-
- I use a variant of these menus on my own BBS, leaving the file section
- listings on the CD-ROM. Performance isn't bad with the listings on the CD-ROM,
- but the download counts will *never* increment!
