  1.                             BBS In A Box Menus

  3. The attached set of menus is intended as a "generic" setup which can be
  4. quickly modified to work with "BBS IN A Box" in most setups. Included are a
  5. set of menus in both menu file and text form, along with Tom Konantz'
  6. application ListMenus, which can convert menus to text and vice versa.
  7.  
  8. To adjust these menus to your BBS, open the List Of Menus file with a text
  9. editor (Vantage and McSink DA's are recommended, as is the application QUED,
  10. but you can use a regular word processor if you're careful to keep the file in
  11. TEXT form and don't alter line breaks or tabs).

  13. You need to change paths for the commands worded as follows:

  19. or else eliminate the commands altogether. The TEXT files for the two AMUG
  20. "BBS In A Box" info commands are included in this package if you want to use
  21. them.

  23. In addition, you need to change all FileMenu references from G2 to the path
  24. and folder[s]) for your hard disk.

  26. That's it. Just be careful as you work. (Also, make a backup copy of these
  27. files before you start -- it's easy to mangle menus with the slip of a global
  28. command!)

  30. If you want to make global changes, go for it. That's where ListMenus really
  31. shines.

  33. When you are done, run ListMenus. Type "B" to build a new set of menus.

  42. If you are afraid to use ListMenus, like working with a menu editor and don't
  43. mind a zillion repetitive operations, you can open each included menu and
  44. change the paths for the

  48. command and change the two info commands in the FileMenu.

  50. Notes:
  51.  
  52. These menus do not provide access to all the files the "BBS In A Box." The
  53. Apple System files are guarded with an access level of 255, since you must
  54. have a license from Apple in order to distribute System software. Feel free to
  55. add to or improve on these menus and to distribute your modifications.

  57. I use a variant of these menus on my own BBS, leaving the file section
  58. listings on the CD-ROM. Performance isn't bad with the listings on the CD-ROM,
  59. but the download counts will *never* increment!
